Hey I’m Val,
I’m a Canadian wedding photographer based in Vancouver.
I’ve been photographing people since my start of photography over ten years ago and weddings specifically for the last 5 years. Being an observer and listener, I’ve found that to be helpful when it comes to photographing people.
My goal with anyone who comes in front of my camera is to capture them authentically while making them feel comfortable and confident. This lends my style towards naturally emotion filled photos with a timeless beauty, out of a love of nostalgia for the moments well lived.
When I first picked up a camera, it was a way to be creative with my friends while exploring the beauty of BC. That interest quickly grew into a passion, leading me to earn a diploma in professional photography. Since then, I’ve had a range of incredible experiences — one of my favourites being photographing for a medical ship in Papua New Guinea
My love for wedding photography began when I started capturing weddings for friends. I realized how special it is to document the one day when family and friends come together to celebrate such a joyful milestone. It’s a privilege to preserve these moments — a piece of a family’s history — for future generations to see.
Friends used to joke about my bad memory, but photography has changed that. Ever since I started being more present in the moment and intentional with my photos — finding that balance between living the moment and documenting it — I’ve noticed I remember so much more.
That’s exactly what I want for you. To be fully in the moment, while I document it for you.
On a personal note, I recently married my best friend and the love of my life, David, in September 2024! Marriage is such a gift, and I’m so excited for you in this season of engagement!

The most spontaneous thing I’ve done is go on a Hinge date with a guy from New York. (He’s my husband now 🥰.) Basically the opposite of a Hallmark movie…
My simple pleasures are being in nature (especially camping and hiking) and hanging out with friends.
A fact about me that surprises people is I’m competitive (Monopoly Deal, anyone?).

It’s the biggest celebration you’ll probably ever throw, and if there’s one day people will always ask about, it’s this one.

My style is timeless and nostalgic, focused not just on what happened, but how it felt.
